If you just had to look up the meaning of "exhortation," you're not alone. I did, too, when I first encountered it several years ago while on a test-taking kick to learn more about myself. After discovering I was an ENFP in personality type, a relator/intuitor in communication style, helper and enthusiast in Enneagram types (the list goes on) -- just one test remained. The spiritual gift test. Why not?
Exhortation ranked as my number one spiritual gift. It's a fancy way of saying "encouragement," But in the spiritual sense, it means giving warnings or advice; or urging or making an appeal in spoken or written form.
From 2016 to 2018, I tried to piece together all these test results knowing they were clues of some sort. During that time, I met two life coaches who gave me glimpses into their worlds of helping people. Finally, in March of 2018, I enrolled at the Life Purpose Institute and spent the next three months in class learning how to be a coach. Zeroing in on career coaching as my niche was a no-brainer. I knew as a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up -- and was doing it, and I had a side business and several stints of helping people connect the career dots in the past. Upon grade on the final exam, I was awarded a life coaching certificate.
The ink was barely dry before I got my first client, then another, and another. I lost count after 30. But, I've never lost sight of the reason I started this to help others achieve their goals and push them forward in life.
I've been extremely fortunate and grateful this business has worked out well. But I also know it was already ordained. I've had a lot of clients in the past three years ranging from 16 to 70 years old. The connection I've had with each is uncanny. And, each has taught me something and helped me grow while I've helped them do the same.
One side note, they say in Coaching school to pick a niche because you won't make it just as a "life coach." So, in a addition to personal coaching, I chose Career Coaching as my niche. I knew what I wanted to do for a living ever since I was a kid. Now, I get to help others discover their path or take their new found passion and put it to work.
I don't believe in coincidences. If you pay even the smallest bit of attention in life, you start to notice patterns or themes. My personal and career coaching in Las Vegas helps you tap into that and sort out the message. And specifically as a career coach in Las Vegas, I've worked hard and built up connections in this area to provide you with best services to improve or advance your professional life.
You don't just get to be the goofy, community-oriented morning reporter of a number 1 newscast You create that path. In my life coaching business, I help you move you toward your goals and dreams. And give you some VIP tips in the process.
I've created and performed in a band, written and published two books, launched two successful small businesses and that's only half of it. When someone tells me I can't do something, I prove them wrong. Now I'm helping you do the same thing through my life and career coaching. The first appointment is free.
Mike grew up in Rochester, NY - a city that only knows two seasons: winter and construction. Within six months of graduating college from Brockport State University with a B.S. in Broadcast Communications, he landed his first on-air reporting job with WIVT-TV, the ABC affiliate in Binghamton, NY. His subsequent market moves in television took him to Albany, NY, back to Rochester and then finally Las Vegas where he currently works full-time at FOX5 News as a reporter for the morning show. In 2018, he won an Emmy for a story he did on who names the streets in Las Vegas. You can watch it below.
Mike considers himself a bucket-list accomplisher as he's written two books, two albums and successfully started two small businesses. He owns Mike Doria Media, a multi-media and content publishing resource for other businesses.
Deciding to additionally pursue the Life Coaching track was born out his continued relationship with God and his compassion to help others succeed in life. His hobbies and interests include writing, karaoke, concerts, travel, researching anything, surfing the web and deep conversations. Naps are also a key to his happiness.
In 2008, the Las Vegas Review-Journal named Mike the “Best Reason To Wake Up In The Morning,” in the paper’s annual “Couchie” awards.
In 2016 he was named "Best Reporter" in the Review Journal's "Best of Las Vegas Awards."
